Patient Journey

Whether you’re a child or an adult, our whole team is here to support and take care of you.

Starting any type of orthodontic treatment can appear daunting, but at Orthoclinique we aim to put you at ease right from the very first time you call us.

Getting in touch

Most of our patients reach us through referrals, but we are more than happy to talk to you if you want to contact us independently. When you call – or email us – our experienced and approachable staff will make an appointment for an initial consultation, which we’ll confirm with you 24 hours before either by text message or a phone call.

The first orthodontic visit

The most important thing to find out is what you want to achieve from your treatment and understand any concerns you may have.

One of our orthodontists will update your clinical records. We will use these to create a treatment plan with the different options available to you. This will give you all the information you need to make an informed decision and start your treatment. We will also send a full report, outlining our recommendations. We will also inform your dentist so they are kept up to date.

We understand that it’s a big decision so sometimes we arrange for a second appointment so we can fully discuss your options. We want to make sure that you are comfortable with your choice.

Treatment process

When you are happy with which treatment you have chosen, we will organise an appointment to fit your brace. You can see our different brace fitting processes below.

Invisalign

Tooth-coloured braces

Once the brace is fitted, you will be seen routinely to check the progress of your treatment and make any adjustments. It is very important to attend these review appointments as unsupervised brace treatment can have a detrimental effect on the teeth and the supporting tissues.

Having your braces removed

When the final day comes and it is time for your braces to be removed, we will take off your braces and clean off the glue and polish your teeth. We will take final photographs and scans and fit retainers. Retainers are custom-made to prevent the teeth from moving back. The orthodontist will explain the retention regime required.
